Enterasys EDU Lunch

Network Security in an Education IT Environment

Increasingly, students and staff are bringing their own computing devices to school.

In some districts it's part of an official policy initiative; in others, it is used to augment a 1-1 initiative; and many times students and staff are simply using their personal computers, tablets and smart phones on their own. In all cases, the phenomenon presents new challenges to K12 and higher education network administrators.

Join us at Maggiano's to learn how to protect the security of your network and the privacy and safety of your students and staff in an education IT environment.

Topics covered in this lunch and learn session include:

  • How visibility, control and proper authentication initiatives can lower IT costs, increase student and staff satisfaction and contribute to1:1 educational computing.
  • How districts can maintain CIPA compliance and boundary control in the face of 3G Internet access and personal and external WiFi hotspots.
  • How to design a security architecture that enables device-flexibility.
  • How network administrators can enforce registration, control and differentiation of services by user, device and location.
